How are you prepping to meet your goals? Do you just show up on the day of the competition and "wing it" or are you taking time to visualize yourself meeting and exceeding your goals? Are you taking the time to break down how your competition will play out: mile splits, jump phases, proper competition day nutrition, etc...? These are all things that we at Perseverance Running can help you with tips and techniques on how to properly prepare mentally for a competition because at the end of the day if you don't believe you can reach your goals, you will never achieve them.
#Believe Coach Niezgoda Warmups are crucial to performance as well as injury prevention. Your muscle fibers have a similar makeup as celery. Trying to start a run without a proper warmup is like taking a piece of celery out of the freezer and trying to bend it. It snaps! Your muscles react the same way, if you run on cold muscles you increase the likelihood that you will injure yourself. If you allow a piece of celery to warm up it becomes more flexible and less resistant to change. So don't run on frozen celery and spend more time working towards your goals and less time injured.
